Oakley learned that many people did not want a completely sporty look on their cycling glasses, so they compromised on functionality for a more relaxed look. Oakley took on the feedback and made the Sutro. The large retro design gives you a great field of vision where you don't see the frame, even though it is strong. The glasses are elevated so that nothing gets in the field of vision and you have a full view of your surroundings. Oakley heard from their professional riders that they could have trouble seeing cars and other riders when looking behind them. Due to this, the glasses are made extra wide at the bottom of the frame, to provide better safety for yourself and others. The frame is made of Oakley's 'O Matter' material. This makes the frame extremely durable - so even if they are not made to crash with, they often hold up to the impact. Thanks to the material, the weight is also kept down so that they do not feel heavy on the head.
Eyeglass frames are made thinner and extended. It provides a better fit when you wear them together with the helmet, but also when you use the glasses together with a cap in your free time.
The nose pad is Oakley's 'Unobtanium' material. It has also been enlarged so that it holds more of the nose, which gives you an even better fit and it is better to stay seated. The glasses stay on even if you sweat or drive in the rain.
