Syntace W28i Straight Pull 29" Boost Wheelset - SRAM XD Driver

Throughout their range Syntace wheels set a high standard for durability and stabilit and the W28I is no different. Their build quality is extremely high meaning that you can push your limits on the trail without worry. Mile after mile, ride after ride the quality and performance of the wheels stay true to the day they came out the box.

The front wheel is designed with equal spoke angles on both sides, which increases stiffness and improves steering precision and the ratchet system in the rear hub offers extremely fast and consistent power transfer.

Syntace W28i Aluminum Rim: The W28i aluminum rim is a true showcase of the Bavaria brands years of experience. Instead of using inserted sleeve joins, the rims are welded for better roundness and increased stability, eliminating annoying noises even after years of use. The V-Shape profile features angled, reinforced rim flanges with a retaining groove for an optimal tire fit and secure tubeless sealing. The rim’s impact resistance has been increased by 25% compared to its predecessor, the award-winning Syntace W35.

Spokes: Syntace uses its specially developed, computer-optimized Sapim Genius 1.7 spokes, made from high-strength Swedish steel and produced exclusively by Sapim. These spokes are carefully crafted to create stronger, lighter sections where needed. For emergency repairs, the wheelset is also compatible with standard straight-pull spokes from other manufacturers. The self-locking nipples ensure long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance.

Hubs: The heart of the wheelset is the Syntace M40 MX hubs which are designed and manufactured to a top class level. The all-new and test stand ­approved hub body is made from 7050 Aluminum and can be fine tuned with the latest design MicroAdjust end caps for tension-free wheel truing. The oversized axles provide maximum stiffness with minimal weight. Finally, the bearing used offer a 92% increase strength and durability over standard bearings meaning that they can cope with up to 250kg of force before deforming. In addition, they are extremely corrosion resistant and designed to repel water and dirt with ease.

The front hub is equipped with Rockshox Torque Caps, making it compatible with RockShox suspension forks. Riders using other brands of forks can switch the end caps out to the Small Cap/SC end caps (sold separately).
