For some, flow means to pedal up a never ending gravel climb and getting into a trance-like rhythm. To others, flow is when corners are linked up seamlessly, dirt flying sideways. And yet another group of riders seeks new adventure in burly terrain. Either way: The wheels of the HX 1501 SPLINE ONE line up feel right at home doing all of the above. Strong, light and offering the right width for your riding needs, it climbs with the best and descends with the best. The Ratchet System is the most durable freehub system out there, safely driving you forward in any conditions, at any time. A light and strong spec through and through makes sure you pedal into the flow, whatever your flow is.
 
Plus size tires are a dilemma: All of a sudden you find yourself riding sections where you previously dismounted, and you're doing so at a good pace. That's a lot of fun. On the other side it makes it pretty tough on your bike and especially the wheels. The fact that everyone wants a lightweight wheelset doesn't make our job any easier. With the HX 1501 SPLINE ONE 35 we have succeeded to deliver aluminum wheels able to bridge the gap. Created with all of DT Swiss' know how and passion, it is light and reliable but loves to smash into the rough like no other.

Hybrid hub: All DT Swiss HYBRID hubs have oversized housings with increased wall thickness, are equipped with heavy duty axles and have extra reinforced spoke mounts as well as oversized bearings and steel freewheel bodies. In addition, the rear hub models with ratchet freewheel system (350, 240) are equipped with reinforced 24-tooth ratchets made of hardened steel. Thanks to these optimisations, a system weight of up to 150 kg is permitted, despite only a slight increase in weight compared to a standard DT MTB hub. The result is a hub that can handle very high torques, offers direct propulsion and, combined with the other HYBRID components, produces extremely robust wheels.

Hybrid spokes: The DT Swiss HYBRID system requires spokes that not only withstand the higher weight and torque of a modern E-MTB, but also fit perfectly with the oversized spoke mounts of the in-house HYBRID hubs. The specially-designed spokes feature reinforced and oversized straight-pull spoke heads which, together with the DT Pro Lock Squorx nipples, ensure that the combined power of rider and motor is also converted into propulsion.

Hybrid rim: Lots of uphill and downhill rides on rough terrain with an E-MTB means that the rims have a very hard life. DT Swiss HYBRID rims have proven rim profiles with load-optimised cross-sections and are approved for a system weight of up to 150 kg. For maximum stability, the strength and material thickness have been increased wherever it makes sense. DT Swiss hybrid rims are reinforced to withstand up to 20% higher spoke pull out forces compared to DT Enduro rims.

Tubeless: All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless ready. The profiles of the DT Swiss rims are specially designed for tubeless use. The rim profile makes it easier to fit the right tyre and ensures a perfect fit. The tubeless system of the rim consists of DT Swiss Tubeless Ready Tape for sealing and a DT Swiss tubeless valve in a length that complies with the rim. When using tubeless ready tyres, it is mandatory to use a compatible sealant. However, it is also possible to use a conventional combination of tyre and inner tube.

Bearings: Having learned from years of experience, DT Swiss only uses durable cartridge bearings without bearing play adjustment. DT Swiss hubs are designed to have the optimum axial and radial bearing play when they are properly installed. The correct preload of the bearings to compensate for the clamping force of the wheel mounting system is the basis for a play-free hub with minimum friction.

Pro Lock: DT Pro Lock prevents the spoke-nipple connection from loosening. In the Pro Lock® process, a special dual component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, allowing for extremely durable wheel builds. By threading the nipple onto the spoke the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely within a few hours. Re-truing the wheel is possible, yet it will cause a slight decrease in the adhesive power each time.
