For low/flat light or cloudy conditions, you'll want a specific lens with a yellow, amber, or light rose base. These lens colours offer the highest VLT, usually ranging from about 35-60%. This lighter tint allows as much light in as possible and provides you with enhanced contrast throughout those darker days.
Choose one of the following if you need a low-light lens:
- Low Light Pink (VLT - 28%)
- Low Light Yellow (VLT - 54%)
All round lenses:
If you're an all-weather skier who'd rather not worry about changing your lenses, we recommend going with an all-around lens that features a happy medium of VLT. These lenses allow the goggles to perform fairly well in all conditions. Universal lenses typically have a medium tint and sometimes a mirrored exterior. The tints give you contrast for overcast conditions, while still providing some brightness protection for sunnier days and the mirror helps to reduce glare when the sun comes out. No matter what Mother Nature throws at you, these lens colours will have you covered.
Choose one of the following if you need an all-round lens:
- Deep Sea Green (VLT - 24%)
Bright light lenses:
For those who prefer to hit the slopes on bright sunny bluebird days, a darker lens tint will be your best bet to keep the glare out of your eyes. These lenses typically have a lower VLT between 5% and 18%. The best lenses for bright conditions on the mountain use a dark lens coupled with a heavy mirror. A solid mirror helps deflect glare, while dark colours add contrast. Contrast helps you see all the bumps and troughs of the snow both in and out of the shadows.
- Lava Red (VLT - 18%)
- Royal Blue (VLT - 18%)
- Mirror Great (VLT - 8%)
