Description
TRP Slate EVO HD-M807 4 Piston Hydraulic Brakeset

A downhill-proven hydraulic brake system developed alongside World Cup champion Aaron Gwin and refined on the World Cup circuit. The Slate EVO transfers many of the performance improvements from TRP’s DH-R EVO into a trail-ready package, combining durable construction, refined ergonomics, and improved hydraulic transfer for predictable stopping power.

Development background
TRP began working with Aaron Gwin in 2016. Testing and rider feedback led to widespread changes across the brake’s components during a World Cup season; several of those upgrades were adapted for the Slate trail brake.

Design and construction
The Slate EVO pairs an ergonomic cast-aluminium lever with a forged/CNC’d caliper, both finished in matte black. A stiffer 5.0 mm hose improves hydraulic transfer and simplifies internal routing. The system also benefits from a top-loading pad design, tool-free reach adjust and options for shifter integration.

Please note: when ordered as individual brakes they are supplied as EU spec so the front brake is on the left & the rear is on the right. They are supplied as a J-Kit, so when orders are as a pair, this does not matter.

These are great brakes. Already have sets on the kids bikes which saw extensive use in the Alps this summer. I was so impressed I recently bought a third set for my own hardtail. I normally ride Shimano XT 4-pots and although the TRPs don't have the same immediate bite, they're almost as powerful but with more progression. Just under half the price... I'd prefer they had that more immediate bite similar to Shimano but perhaps different pads would help that. Work well with 2.0mm Magura rotors although I'm keen to try TRP's 2.3mm rotors.

the reason i rate this a 4, is because it says "203 adaptor supplied", but never warned, the adaptor will only work if your forks can fit 180mm rotor without an adaptor, another reason is because the front hose comes a little short, and the rear hose very long, although it is okay, i managed to make everything work, it does also say "for 2.3mm rotors only", it dosent make much a difference if you use normal 1.8 rotors, id suppose more stopping power on a 2.3 rotor, but honestly these brakes are awesome there insanely powerful, if you are a rider with like 120mm travel and above, id consider a longer front hose, and be prepared to cut your rear hose shorter

An absolute bargain on this set of amazing brakes. I'm already running a set on my Turbo Levo with 2.3mm rotors and they're rock solid, fade free and don't need too much maintenance. These were such a good price that I bought a set as a spare... just in case!
