WTB Horizon Comp 650 x 47c Road Plus Bike Tyre

The Horizon Tyre dips a toe in the rowdy end of Adventure Road, offering you the chance to explore broken pavement and short stretches of gravel. A smooth, speedy centreline is supported by grooves that aid cornering and siphon water, while a herring bone outer tread expands your surface options.

Since your weight lends the centre of the tyre a degree of traction, it makes sense to avoid tread in that region. However, the circumferential grooves add flex that aids conformation to the shape of the trail, while the tread at the edges delivers grip in all weathers, sufficient for hardpack surfaces, without slowing you down.

Slick Centerline Efficiency: Provides maximium efficiency while also smoothing out the ride on a variety of surfaces ranging from smooth tarmac to broken pavement. Tread is less important on the centerline of the tire where the weight of the rider is pushing in a downward direction rather than the cornering forces that occur at the outer edges of a tire.

Circumferentail Grooves: Grooves running parallel to the tire enhance cornering performance by allowing the tread to flex and better conform to the trail. They also channel water away from contact surfaces of the tire.

Herringbone Outer Tread: Grapples with wet roads to deliver all-weather traction while also improving confidence on the occasional gravel road. Enough to get you through it, but not enough to slow you down.
